The FICCI has been organizing global skill summits or GSS since 2007 and the 13th global skill summit has begun on the 27th of September, and it is a 2-day event with a wide range of features to it like conferences, panel sessions, expositions, B2B meetings, and the famous VIRASAT. A number of people from different organizations are taking part in the event.

Who is FICCI?

The federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry or FICCI for short is a non-government, non-profit organization that was set up in 1927. It is now the oldest apex business organization and also one of the largest in India.

The history of FICCI is closely interwoven with the history of India from the Indian independence struggle to India’s industrialization and now through India’s emergence as one of the fastest growing global economies.

The FICCI has contributed to all of the above processes in a substantial manner by encouraging debate, influencing policies, and articulating the private sector’s views.

What is The 13th Global Skill Summit?

The 13th GSS or The 13th Global Skill Summit is an event that is going to focus on easing the education to employability transition for the students of our country. FICCI looks at employability skills as a very important part of the things needed to create a sustainable livelihood.

In this GSS a lot of discussions are also taking place on the subject of entrepreneurship with the goal of encouraging people to look at entrepreneurship as a possible career goal. And similar discussions are taking place on subjects like craftsmanship, and apprenticeship.

There will also be discussions on the financing models of Indian TVET and a deep dive deliberation on how a robust financing system can truly support the Education to Employability Transition in India.

Everyone is welcome to be a part of the revolution and engage with participants of this event numbering over 400, from government officials both central and state to policymakers, to training partners, to industry leaders and representatives from different organizations, as well as students.

What is VIRASAT?

VIRASAT-the heritage has become one of the main attractions of the Global Skill Summits since its launch in the 11th Global Skill Summit, It is a very unique kind of industry that is meant for providing a visible platform for the small to medium size enterprises working at the cluster level.

It is a platform for those enterprises to showcase their skills and their arts. On a broader scale, the goal of the VIRASAT is to give the traditional clusters to share best practices and the prevailing problems in their sphere, and how they plan to move forward despite those challenges.

  • Development of skills of the new generation is a need of the national magnitude. And it is gonna be the foundation of self-reliant India or Atmanirbhar Bharat. And what steps must be taken to integrate vocational education with formal education?

  • How can we create a skilling ecosystem in the country that is led by the industry itself? and how do we increase engagement with the industries?
  • Supporting Entrepreneurs and new businesses, how can Government and Industry collaborate to support them with the ease of doing business?

Plus the mysterious creator makes Bitcoin at the very least an interesting topic of discussion in the crypto sphere.

Ethereum (ETH):- Ethereum is also one of the biggest cryptos with a market cap of around 178 billion dollars and the most interesting thing about ETH is the smart contract aspect of the ETH which has made it very popular.

Dogecoin (DOGE):- Dogecoin is the embodiment of meme coins type crypto which is usually made with inspiration from a famous meme or famous personality in most cases these coins are rug pool but DOGE surprisingly stuck around and now has a market cap of around 8 billion dollars.

Tether (USDT):- Tether is a type of cryptocurrency known as a stablecoin. The price of USDT is anchored at 1 dollar and the market cap of USDT is 68 billion dollars. Though some concerns have been raised that it might not be properly backed and is using a short form of unsecured debt instead of a dollar reserve.

What is Blockchain and what is the hype?

Blockchain is a type of technology used to record data or information in a way that in the worst-case scenario it is extremely difficult to cheat the system, hack the system, and temper the information in the system, best case all the above are impossible.

What is the hype around Blockchain technology? The hype comes from the fact that by using blockchain we can finally make digital currency without the risk of being cheated, with blockchain the only possible way you can get scammed is ignorance. All the info from who owns how much of the currency to all the info about transfers of the currency is available on the blockchain and cannot be changed or tempered.

Why you should care about Cryptocurrency?

If the fact that crypto has made over 100,000 millionaires is not enough to make you care about Cryptocurrencies, maybe the fact that Cryptocurrencies are essentially fraud-proof due to all the information being stored in the public ledgers and neither banks nor the government has any control over it.

Cryptocurrencies are also theft-proof since again all data is in public ledgers and also all the transactions are checked to make sure the coins that are spent are owned by the spender. You are your own bank with crypto because the coin you own is yours, not like a dollar that is American, you make your transactions using your own currency.

One of the best things yet very little talked about thing about is that Crypto is very much protected from artificial dilution of the value of the coin if they have a fixed cap on the number of coins.

Since it can not be just printed like dollars and bring about a recession in a country. The recession America is going through right now is largely attributed to the fact that a large number of dollar bills in circulation were printed recently hence diluting the value of the dolar.

Lumpy skin disease is killing thousands of cows across India.

Lumpy skin disease caused by the lumpy virus is wreaking havoc in India with the number of deaths already being over 75000, The disease largely targets cows and buffalos.

What is Lumpy skin disease?

Lumpy skin disease is a disease caused by a lumpy virus in cattle animals and spreads mostly through blood-sucking insects like certain species of mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, etc. The disease spreads through either direct touch or can also spread through the contamination of the food and the water that is consumed by the cattle.

A virus from the family Poxviridae, and the genus Capripoxvirus is the cause of the lumpy skin disease. Due to a morbidity rate ranging from 2 to 45% and even up to 100% in some places and a mortality rate of around 10% but it seems to be increasing the Lumpy virus is very devastating.

 

What are the symptoms of Lumpy skin disease?

Lumpy skin disease in cattle has a wide range of symptoms/characteristics, In most cases, the cattle get a fever, the production of milk is reduced greatly in infected cattle, and the formation of the skin noodles is also rather common.

As a result of the infection female castles can also develop mastitis and another infection-based condition that can also develop is swelling of the peripheral lymph nodes.

Some of the more common symptoms are a loss of appetite, a considerable increase in nasal discharge, and watery eyes. In some cases, the fertility of the cattle is also affected with varying severity from temporary infertility to permanent infertility.

 

Reason for the sudden outbreak and increased mortality of Lumpy virus.

The virus responsible for the Lumpy skin disease has been around for over a century in the world but the outbreak in India has been especially bad with the mortality rate up by almost 5 percent, from around 10% to around 15%. But why? The main reason for the increased mortality rate can be attributed to the mutations of the virus.

The virus mutates to better adapt to its surroundings and the more a virus spreads the more it mutates as we saw in the case of another very famous virus. While most mutations are not very significant some mutations can have deep effects.

The virus is spreading a lot more than it normally would and the reason for that is the weather and the rain that comes with it causes the population of the insects that spread the virus to grow. The growth of the insect population directly increases the spread of the virus giving it more opportunity to mutate.

An increase in the population of virus carriers combined with a morbidity rate as high as 50 % is what makes this outbreak of the virus especially bad and also is the reason for the increased mortality rate.

 

Nurturing even when suffering.

The Lumpy skin disease in cattle is a non-zoonotic disease which in simple terms means it cannot be transmitted to humans from the cows. So while the cows are suffering from Lumpy skin disease and very painful nodules on their skin, the milk they provide is perfectly fine for humans.

The milk of the cows that have been affected by the Lumpy skin disease is healthy for human consumption, only the amount of the milk produced is affected due to the strain the disease puts on them.

We have grown up drinking the milk of the cows so it is safe to say they have nurtured us and continue to do so even when suffering.

 

Lumpy skin disease does not have a known cure yet. And whatever immunity a cattle might have come either from already suffering from the infection or through the maternal antibodies from a mother cow to its calves.

Over 80000 cattle have already died due to the lumpy skin disease and more and more are dying as you read this article but we still do not have a cure for it. #savegaudhan

The headline of this article is not like other headlines on the website and that is on purpose, It is an example of a fascination/Curiosity bullet used often in copywritng. More about fascination later, let us start with what you will read in this article.

What is copywriting?

Depending on who you ask different people define it differently, Being a copywriter myself some of my favorite definitions are salesmanship in writing, the art of persuasion with words, and The art of empathy and one-sided communication.

I know all the definitions sound very different, but if you think carefully, all of them relate to persuasion. So to put it simply it is all about persuading someone to take action with words in writing.

 

What are Fascinations/Curiosity bullets?

In one sentence Fasciation or Curiosity bullets are powerful bullet point sentences used to create curiosity and make your prospect want to read the copy or keep reading it.

Fascinations are used as headlines, CTA( Call to Action), bullet points, etc. Fascinations usually have a big promise and/or questions to create curiosity. More about writing powerful fascination in future articles.

 

Types of Copywriting and their purpose.

Copywriting is everywhere and in so many different types but to keep it simple let us divide it into two types Short-form copy and Long-form copy.

  • Short-form Copy:-  I like to define short-form copy as any copy with less than 1000 words so your emails, social media posts, blog posts, etc. Some web pages can be a short-form copy, like Optin pages for email lists. Usually, the purpose of the short-form copy is to build rapport, and redirect the reader to a long-form copy. You do not sell in short form but it is still very important for sales.
  • Long-form Copy:-  Long-form copy is anything over 1000 words and I do not believe there is an upper limit. Because some sales pages are like 5 pages and then there are some over 40 pages. Some examples of the long-form copy are sales pages, web pages, VSL(Video sales letters), etc. even very detailed blog posts with over a thousand words can be a long-form copy. This is where most of the sales happen.

 

Copywriting and supercharging sales.

Remember Copywriting is salesmanship in writing, that is true having a good copy is like having a good salesman 24/7. So if you have a good copy you can boost your conversions.

Let me show you an example: let us assume you are running an email marketing campaign you send 5 emails to 100 people and have a conversion rate of around 10%, so 10 people per email go to your website or sales page, in total 50.

On the website or sales page, you have a conversion rate of around 25% so you make 12 sales for 1000 Rupees per sale or 12000 Rupees total.

If you have a good copy for emails and sales pages, it can double your conversions across the board, and with new conversion rates, you can make around 50000 Rupees or 50 sales.

But even if you have a slightly better copy and your conversion rates go up just 2.5%  from 10% to 12.5% for emails, and from 25% to 27.5% for the sales page, you can still make 17000 Rupees or 17 sales.

This is what people call compound effect small improvements across the board can make a big difference.

 

So as a business owner if you can just learn the basics of copywriting and tweak your copies according to them you can still increase your sales.

The ad is a perfect blend of emotions and features while keeping the cultural aspects in the mind. The video is meant to be a TV commercial it showcases cars in the Tata motors cars line up with an overall focus on the Bengali theme.

New Tata motors EV set for launch this festive season.

This festive season almost every car brand in the country is planning to launch new cars.

Tata motors will be unveiling its latest EV on 28 September, it is going to be the cheapest EV in the Indian market with a range of almost 300Km when fully charged.

The car is gonna be a hatchback and the electric version of the Tata Tiago, not a whole lot has been revealed about the car.

But it is likely gonna have a 7-inch screen, Android Auto, Apple Carplay, projector headlights, and automatic air-conditioning.

 

A piece of brilliant marketing.

From a marketing perspective, the TVC is brilliant as Tata already has a very positive brand image and good public opinion which helps TVC from coming off as gimmicky.

The TVC itself is very nicely crafted and full of positive emotions and more importantly, the positivity of the ad gets associated with Tata itself with the help of the cars that feature in the video.

The cars are intentionally or unintentionally depicted as a way to help out people and a kind of like tool to do good.

 

They have also targeted a specific region instead of the country instead of the whole country, The ad is targeting the Bengal region and even uses a song in the regional language.

People from the region also define the ad as masterfully addressing the Cultural nuances and subtleties.

A ceremonial axis was created along which parks and government buildings were located, called Kingsway was later renamed Rajpath, which was again renamed after being revamped to kartavya path.

Central vista is similar to the American capital Washington dc in its design but both signify very different things while Washinton signifies the independence of America, Central Vista was a sign of colonial power.

The secretariate buildings were supposed to house different ministries of the Government but, the buildings are not sufficient and as a result, many of the ministries as well as the Prime minister’s residence are located outside Central Vista.

Because of ministries and the Prime minister’s residence being outside Central Vista public has to face many traffic restrictions, and restrictions are especially severe during big events such as Republic day.

Therefore the government has decided to redevelop the entire area, in hopes to create a better and more efficient administrative center for the largest democracy in the world. And give the public relief from the restrictions.

 

Some of the changes that will take place in Central Vista as part of the redevelopment.

The most notable change is the construction of a new parliament, which is gonna be built right next to the existing parliament. Unlike the current parliament, the new parliament would be triangular, not circular.

The existing secretariate buildings that are not big enough would be demolished and new secretariate buildings would be built in their place, this is to bring all the ministries of the Indian government into one place.

To make commuting between different buildings an underground electric people mover system would also be created, that would stop at each building.

A central conference center is also being built for large events and it would have many auditoriums as well as several conferences, and seminar rooms.

The national archives center is also located on the kartavya path and consists of an old building from the Imperial time, and a newer building that was built later, as a part of the redevelopment the older building will be renovated.

The national museum would be relocated to an existing Secretariate building outside of Central Vista, to make way for the new Secretariate buildings. The Building to which the National Museum will be moved is 3 times bigger than the current National Museum.

Many other changes will be made to Central Vista as part of this massive Redevelopment to create a new and better administrative district for the Indian Democracy.

The Rajpath has been completely revamped and renamed as part of the Redevelopment of the Central Vista and it was recently inaugurated by Pm Modi.
