New GTDC Research Details Distribution's Influence on AI, Cloud and Hyperscaler Sales and Adoption

  • IT distributors have become digital ecosystem orchestrators that unify cloud, AI, hyperscaler, and subscription-based business models.

  • Distribution significantly accelerates vendor growth while reducing risk, allowing suppliers to scale efficiently, expand partner bases, enter new markets and mitigate financial and operational liabilities.

  • Digital platforms are creating a new GTM “operating system”. These systems offer end-to-end digital commerce and intelligence layers to manage procurement, billing, lifecycles and analytics.

The Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC), the world’s largest consortium of technology distributors, has released a new research report, Distribution: The Digital Force Multiplier. Developed by CommCentric Solutions, this study examines how IT distribution has transformed and continues to evolve into a critical enabler of cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), hyperscaler and platform-driven business models across the global technology channel.

Suppliers and solution providers face mounting complexity, financial risk and competitive pressure in this new digital realm. This survey and interview-based report confirms that distributors are uniquely positioned to unify fragmented go-to-market motions, streamline subscription and consumption models, integrate multi-vendor solutions, and accelerate partner enablement, demand generation and data-driven decision-making. These benefits are ranked and detailed by supplier executives in this report, along with insightful narrative from distribution and industry thought leaders.

Today’s distributors have advanced far beyond the critical logistics and credit services mission,” said Frank Vitagliano, CEO of GTDC. “Distribution is now a major force multiplier-helping cloud and AI and hyperscaler-focused suppliers reduce risk, scale faster, enter new markets and orchestrate increasingly complex digital ecosystems. Those services are layered on top of all the time-tested valued services that vendors have come to expect from their trusted distributor partners.”

Cloud, XaaS, and AI-driven solutions introduce operational, financial and technical complexity that most emerging and established suppliers simply do not have the resources to scale these offerings independently. Distribution provides these organizations with operational efficiencies, financial leverage and the global reach required to succeed in today’s highly competitive IT ecosystems.

Distribution’s New Key Value Propositions

Several critical trends were highlighted by the global survey of vendor executives and in-depth interviews with channel leaders across North America, EMEA and APJ. The report notes a number of those movements that are forging a stronger and more valuable future for the IT ecosystem. Some of the advantages suppliers gain by working with distributors include:

Partner ecosystem growth is a priority. 80% of vendor executives rank this distribution value-add as the most important contribution to their go-to-market success, with sales enablement resources cited by 57% of respondents, reflecting the growing need for education, tools and guidance to sell and support cloud and AI-driven solutions.

Digital platform adoption is strong, with 86% of suppliers either using at least one today or actively evaluating options to support online transactions, lifecycle management and analytics.

Hyperscaler relationships continue to evolve. 60% of vendors have direct relationships with these infrastructure suppliers with 40% leveraging both a direct and distributor-supported model, underscoring the growing importance of distribution as a bridge between these organizations and the broader channel ecosystem.

Additional survey findings highlight that distributors play a critical role in risk reduction, renewal orchestration, marketplace onboarding and AI-driven analytics – essential capabilities as technology shifts more toward subscription, consumption and outcome-based models.

The full report, Distribution: The Digital Force Multiplier, as well as other invaluable industry research and resources, is available at no cost on the GTDC Knowledge Hub.

Ahmedabad University Reimagines the MBA for New-Age Roles in a Connected Global Economy

Ahmedabad University has announced the launch of The Ahmedabad MBA, a new management programme designed to respond to structural shifts reshaping business and society. The programme has been developed in recognition of the profound disruptions caused by rapid technological transformation, shifting geopolitical dynamics, climate change, and large-scale urbanisation, particularly in emerging economies such as India.

The Ahmedabad MBA: Built for High Impact Roles in a Connected World

Over the past decade, businesses across industries have been challenged by new organisational forms, digital platforms, and data-driven operating models. Traditional structures built around hierarchies and incremental change are increasingly giving way to agile, cross-functional systems that require new skills and new ways of thinking. Roles within organisations are evolving rapidly, demanding technological fluency, interdisciplinary understanding, and the ability to navigate uncertainty.

Professor Pankaj Chandra, Vice Chancellor of Ahmedabad University, said, “Business today operates in an environment defined by complexity and interconnectedness. Technology is transforming how organisations function, geopolitics is influencing supply chains and capital flows, climate change is shaping regulatory and strategic decisions, and urbanisation is redefining markets and consumers. Management education must respond to these realities with intellectual depth and structural innovation.”

The Ahmedabad MBA has been designed within a comprehensive research university environment, enabling students to draw upon expertise across management, engineering, arts and sciences, public health, and technology domains. This interdisciplinary foundation reflects the growing need for managers who can integrate perspectives from economics, social sciences, computing, sustainability, and policy into business decision-making.

The programme is structured around four core capabilities. It emphasises the development of an entrepreneurial mindset that enables students to identify opportunity within uncertainty. It builds technological fluency so that graduates understand not only digital tools but also the strategic implications of emerging technologies. It integrates interdisciplinary learning to deepen understanding of markets, institutions, and society. It also cultivates the ability to work in diverse teams, recognising that contemporary problem-solving requires collaboration across varied backgrounds and expertise.

Students in The Ahmedabad MBA have the flexibility to shape their academic pathways in line with the roles they aspire to pursue. A student who wishes to become a technology product manager can complement marketing courses with coursework and projects in artificial intelligence, networking, and design from the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Those aiming to work in the health industry can integrate their management learning with courses in One Health and Data Science in Health from the Bagchi School of Public Health. A student interested in finance within the creative industries may combine business education with coursework in Performing and Visual Arts from the School of Arts and Sciences or pursue specialised study at the GIFT International FinTech Institute established by Ahmedabad University with IIT Gandhinagar. Similarly, a student aspiring to be a Sustainability Manager in a global manufacturing firm can undertake courses and projects with The Climate Institute to design sustainable systems, processes, and materials.

Field projects form a key component of the programme, enabling students to integrate classroom learning with real-world challenges. This experiential emphasis aims to ensure that graduates are prepared not only to analyse complex problems but also to design and implement practical solutions.

Career preparation is supported by a highly networked Career Development Centre that works closely with industry, startups, family businesses, and research-driven organisations. Graduates of the Ahmedabad MBA pursue careers across core functional areas such as finance, marketing, operations, and product management, as well as interdisciplinary and emerging domains including fintech, analytics, entrepreneurship, sustainability, advanced manufacturing, and the creative industries. The programme is designed to support diverse career ambitions aligned with both India’s growth and the realities of the global economy.

Ahmedabad University believes that the future of management education lies within strong university ecosystems that encourage dialogue across disciplines. Globally, many highly regarded business schools are embedded within comprehensive universities for precisely this reason. Such environments allow management students to engage with scholars in sociology, psychology, engineering, climate science, and public policy, thereby deepening the intellectual foundations of business practice.

The manager of the future must understand systems rather than silos,” Professor Chandra added. “They must be comfortable navigating technological change, regulatory uncertainty, global interdependence, and social responsibility. The Ahmedabad MBA seeks to prepare such whole managers who can think critically, act responsibly, and lead in conditions of change.”

Admissions to The Ahmedabad MBA are now open.

The Banyan Preschool & Day Care celebrated its Annual Day on 28th February, 2026 at the Shri Ram Centre, Mandi House, with a heart-warming programme themed “The Great Library Adventure” The event marked an important milestone for the organisation with the introduction of dedicated libraries across all The Banyan day care centres in Delhi NCR.

The Banyan Annual Day Celebration

The theme was thoughtfully designed to celebrate the launch of this new initiative while reinforcing the importance of books and reading in early childhood. At The Banyan, the belief is that even at the age of two, a book can spark imagination, build language, and awaken curiosity. For young children, a library is not merely a room, but a magical space where stories come alive and dreams begin.

The Annual Day programme featured creative performances by children aged 2 to 6 years, inspired by stories and picture books. Through interactive storytelling, picture reading, and dramatized enactments, the young performers brought the theme to life, reflecting the school’s focus on joyful, child-centred learning.

The event was graced by Mr. Arvinder Singh Lovely, Chief Guest, who highlighted the growing relevance of quality day care facilities in today’s social landscape. He said, “With the government’s emphasis on day care facilities, such centres have become a strong support system for working parents. But with this opportunity comes a great responsibility — to ensure safety, care, and quality early education for every child.” He also appreciated The Banyan’s efforts in providing a nurturing environment and acknowledged how initiatives like these help ease parents’ anxieties.

The occasion was further honoured by the presence of Mr. Shyam Sunder Agarwal, Ex-Mayor, Delhi, as Guest of Honour. The school was also privileged to welcome Mr. Sumit Verma, Founder of Bharat Delhi Education Forum (School Yatra), and Mr. Rohit Patel, Principal, Little Flowers Group of Schools, as Special Guests.

Swati Jain, Director, The Banyan, speaking at the event, emphasised the role of early exposure to books in shaping lifelong learners. She shared that the introduction of libraries across centres is a step toward making reading a natural and joyful part of every child’s daily routine.

Swati Jain addressing the gathering, said, “Books are a child’s first best friend. Our libraries are not quiet rooms. In fact, they are magical spaces where curiosity takes root, imagination grows and a child’s love for learning begins. By creating joyful, story-led experiences, we want reading to become a happy, everyday habit for our youngest learners.

The Banyan also expressed heartfelt gratitude to its dedicated teachers and staff, whose commitment and creativity made both the library initiative and the Annual Day performances possible. The celebration marked a proud and meaningful moment for The Banyan community – a reaffirmation of its commitment to nurturing young minds through care, creativity, and a strong foundation in learning.

Top 4 Group Stage Matches of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup ft. Zimbabwe vs Australia, Nepal vs England, and More

The 2026 ICC T20 World Cup has entered the Super Eight stage, and while many fans and pundits would have expected the competition to get serious at this stage of the tournament, the ongoing edition of the biennial T20 tournament has been thoroughly entertaining since Match 1. Parimatch Sport has prepared several interesting facts.

Top 4 Must-Watch Group Stage Clashes at the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup: Zimbabwe vs Australia, Nepal vs England & More

Multiple associate nations that were not even given a slight chance by the cricketing pundits to even challenge the heavyweights ended up running them close in fixtures that were decided on the last ball or even knocking out former World Champions, as seen in Group B.

According to Parimatch Sports statistic, while no match saw the scoreboard touch the 200-run mark, the ongoing T20 World Cup is already being hailed as the best T20 World Cup in recent memory, with multiple associate nations proving their potential to perform at the biggest stage, re-sparking the conversations around more game time for players from associate nations against full-member teams.

Let’s have a look at the top four group stage matches of the 2026 edition of the ICC T20 World Cup, which made the fans bite off their nails:

P.S.: To maintain the sanctity of different groups and different conditions on offer, we have picked only one match from one group.

#4 Pakistan defeat Netherlands by 3 Wickets (Group A)

While the Netherlands openers did give their side a fast start, followed by useful contributions by Bas de Leede and Colin Ackermann, Mohammad Nawaz and Abrar Ahmed picked two wickets each to leave the Dutch side a bit short of finishers towards the end.

The Netherlands were somewhat in control at 127/4 and 25 balls still left in the innings when skipper Scott Edwards was dismissed after scoring 37 runs off 29 balls. In the 17th over, Saim Ayub dismissed both Logan van Beek and Zion Lion-Cachet, forcing Aryan Dutt to close out the innings with a quick cameo as Pakistan restricted their opposition to a total of 147 runs.

Chasing a modest target, Pakistan made a confident start as Ayub smashed 24 runs off 13 balls before falling to Dutt in the third over of the innings. Ayub’s opening partner, Sahibzada Farhan, kept the pressure on the opposition with a brilliant innings of 47 runs off 31 balls, before falling to Paul van Meekeren.

Farhan’s dismissal triggered a collapse for the Shaheens as the Men in Green found themselves at a score of 114/7 after being 98/2 in 11 overs. With the required rate mounting and no recognised batting partners left, Faheem Ashraf took it upon himself as the all-rounder smashed two fours and three sixes to take his team over the line in the last two overs.

#3 England defeat Nepal by 4 runs (Group C)

While Day 1 produced an unexpected nail-biter between the Netherlands and Pakistan, Day 2 was expected to serve more straightforward results. But, Nepal had other ideas as the Nepalese side had England reeling at 57/3 within 6 overs on a batting-friendly pitch with Jos Buttler, Phil Salt, and Tom Banton back in the hut.

A 71-run partnership between Jacob Bethell and skipper Harry Brook laid the platform for Will Jacks to fire away in the last two overs, helping the Englishmen post a total of 184 runs on the board with the Mumbai Indians all-rounder contributing 39 runs off 18 balls..

In reply, Kushal Bhurtel gave the perfect start for Nepal before being caught & bowled by Jacks, who once again proved to be pivotal for his side. After Bhurtel’s demise, Rohit Paudel and Dipendra Singh Airee took apart the English spinners, particularly targeting Adil Rashid as the two batters contributed 77 runs in eight overs.

Sam Curran’s experience and variations proved to be too much for the Nepalese batters

Airee was sent back to the pavilion by Sam Curran in the 15th over, while Paudel walked in the same direction in the next over after throwing his wicket away to Liam Dawson. Lokesh Bam brought the equation down to 24 runs required off 12 balls after it seemed like everything had been done in vain by the Nepalese batters.

Despite the presence of the in-form Lokesh on the crease, Sam Curran brought out his arsenal of variations in the 20th over and successfully closed out the game, winning the match for his side by 4 runs, giving away only 5 runs in the last over.

#2 Zimbabwe defeat Australia by 21 runs (Group B)

Zimbabwe walked into the encounter high on confidence after defeating Oman, but nobody could have even put a dollar on the Chevrons trumping the Kangaroos at the biggest stage in T20I cricket.

Brian Bennet anchored the innings for Zimbabwe from start to finish with a score of 64 runs off 56 balls, while Tadiwanashe Marumani and skipper Sikandar Raza contributed 35 and 25 runs respectively at strike rates of 166.67 and 192.31 respectively.

The Chevrons set a target of 170 runs but lost only two wickets, which signified that they could have mustered a few more runs if the batters had taken a few more risks. In fact, Raza’s maximum off the last ball of the 20th over was the first six of the innings by any Zimbabwe batter in the pivotal match.

Chasing a target of 170 runs at the R Premadasa Stadium in a day game could always prove tricky, and Raza’s men certainly made it tougher for a misfiring Australian top order. Blessing Muzarabani struck on his first ball as Josh Inglis returned to the pavilion and was soon followed by Cameron Green and Tim David, with both batters getting dismissed on a duck.

Stand-in skipper Travis Head soon chopped back onto his own stumps, leaving his side reeling at 29/4. Glenn Maxwell and Matt Renshaw stitched together a 77-run partnership which ultimately went in vain as the Kangaroos folded under pressure and were knocked out of the tournament after another defeat against Sri Lanka.

#1 South Africa defeat Afghanistan in Super Over 2 (Group D)

After Aiden Markram’s early dismissal, the southpaw pair of Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickelton stitched together a century partnership with both de Kock and Rickelton scoring half-centuries and helping the Proteas reach the score of 111/1 by the end of the 11th over.

In the 13th over, Rashid Khan dismissed both de Kock and Rickelton, which helped the Afghans put a stop to the scoring rate as they conceded only 8 runs in the next two overs with two new batters arriving at the crease.

While Dewald Brevis and Tristan Stubbs fell to Azmatullah Omarzai in the 18th over, David Miller and Marco Jansen propelled the Proteas to a total of 187 runs by smashing 28 runs in the last two overs.

In reply, the Afghans had a dream start as they reached the 50-run mark by the end of the fourth over as Rahmanullah Gurbaz was smashing the ball all over the park while Ibrahim Zadran was seeing his eye in at the other end.

In the fifth over, Lungi Ngidi dismissed both Zadran and Gulbadin Naib while Sediq Atal was also dismissed on a duck in the next over by Kagiso Rabada, forcing the Afghans to consolidate first and accelerate later.

After the powerplay overs, Keshav Maharaj kept it tight from one end while Gurbaz kept targeting the spinners from the other end, with George Linde and Aiden Markram proving to be expensive.

Maharaj finally struck gold when Gurbaz was caught at short third man after smashing 84 runs off 42 balls, which included four fours and seven maximums. Darwish Razooli was run out in the same over, compounding the problems for Jonathan Trott’s men.

Leading by example, Rashid smashed 20 runs off 12 balls, and Noor Ahmad also contributed 15 runs off 8 balls as Rabada bowled two no balls in the last over, which gifted the game to the Afghans, but a stupid run-out forced the game into a Super Over.

Batting first, Afghanistan put 17 runs on the board with Omarzai smashing a maximum and two fours against the in-form Ngidi. While Brevis scored a maximum before getting dismissed, Stubbs scored a four and a six to take the match to a second Super Over.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz gave it his all against South Africa, but his innings went in vain

Batting first, South Africa had Stubbs and Miller in the middle yet again, and while the right-hander scored a maximum yet again, the southpaw scored two sixes to set a target of 24 runs.

Surprisingly, Maharaj was given the ball to defend 23 runs while Mohammad Nabi also walked out to bat instead of Gurbaz. The move didn’t work out as Nabi got out and wasted two deliveries before Gurbaz smashed three maximums, but failed to score a fourth consecutive six, which could have been a fairytale for Afghanistan Cricket.

While Gurbaz failed to take his side over the line, the wicket-keeper batter ensured that every neutral had a great time and left with memories of witnessing the best ever T20I match.
