Together, the Deakin–Chitkara partnership offers students access to globally aligned curricula, international faculty engagement, and flexible study pathways, including the option to transition directly to Deakin’s campuses in Australia. The collaboration is also aligned with the objectives of India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020), which actively supports internationally integrated, future-ready education.

SIMPACT 2026 Brings Together National Healthcare Leaders to Advance Simulation-Based Healthcare Education in India

SIMPACT 2026, a national symposium focused on the future of healthcare training and competency-based education, convened in New Delhi through a collaborative effort between the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC), the SET Facility at AIIMS Delhi, and MediSim VR.

SIMPACT 2026 Brings Together National Healthcare Leaders to Advance Simulation-Based Healthcare Education in India

The event brought together leading healthcare educators, policymakers, clinicians, and simulation experts to explore how simulation-based training and immersive technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR), can strengthen clinical competency and enhance workforce preparedness across India’s healthcare ecosystem.

Hosted at the Healthcare Sector Skill Council in New Delhi, the event featured keynote addresses, expert panel discussions, and a live demonstration of immersive simulation training at the Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) Lab. Attendees experienced a VR-based learning environment designed to support clinical skill development in controlled, repeatable settings.

SIMPACT 2026 was honored by the presence of distinguished chief guests: Dr. Ambuj Roy, Professor of Cardiology and Head of SET Facility, AIIMS Delhi, and Dr. V N Mahalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, Santosh Deemed-to-be-University, both of whom addressed the attendees and shared key insights on the role of simulation in advancing healthcare education. The event was also graced by the Guest of Honor, Dr. Manish Honwad, Surgeon Rear Admiral, VSM, Commanding Officer, INHS Asvini, who shared perspectives on scaling healthcare skill training across civilians and defense healthcare systems.

The speaker lineup featured a distinguished group of national healthcare leaders and simulation experts, including Ashish Jain, CEO, Healthcare Sector Skill Council; Dr. Rashmi Ramachandran, Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology, Pain Medicine & Critical Care, AIIMS Delhi; Dr. Dinker Pai, Director of the Medical Simulation Centre & Professor of Surgery, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Centre, and Dr. Adith Chinnaswami, Organizing Sectary, SIMPACT 2026, Co-founder & COO, MediSim VR.

The symposium further included insights from panel experts such as Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Professor and Head of the Department of Critical Care Nursing, Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences; Dr. Lekha Viswanath, Principal, Nursing College & Deputy Director, Nursing Service, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham; Col. Binu Sharma, Executive Director, Lone Star. CEO INS India; Dr. Anu Gauba, Principal-cum-Professor, Department of Nursing, School of Healthcare and Allied Sciences, GD Goenka University; Ms. Ekta Malik, Chief of Academic Initiatives and Simulation, Ebekmed; Ms. Robia Chacko, Manager: Training and Quality, Vidyanta; Ms. Anshu Verma, Assistant General Manager, Healthcare Sector Skill Council; and Mr. Unnikrishnan, Deputy Nursing Superintendent: Academics, Quality and Critical Care, Sarvodaya Healthcare.

Discussions at SIMPACT 2026 centered on three key themes: enabling Competency-Based Medical & Nursing Education through simulation, addressing the gap between simulation infrastructure and measurable learning outcomes, and scaling advanced simulation technologies to meet the demands of India’s growing healthcare workforce.

As India continues to expand its capacity in healthcare education and delivery systems, simulation-based learning is increasingly recognized as a foundational component of modern clinical training. AI-enabled immersive platforms enable healthcare professionals to practice procedures, refine clinical decision-making, and engage in complex scenarios in safe, standardized, and repeatable environments, thereby reducing patient risk and improving readiness.

Ashish Jain, CEO, Healthcare Sector Skill Council, underscored the role of technology in workforce development, “As India expands its healthcare delivery systems, maintaining consistent training standards becomes critical. “Simulation and immersive technologies offer scalable solutions to strengthen skill development and workforce readiness.”

Dr. Ambuj Roy, Professor of Cardiology & Head of the SET Facility, AIIMS Delhi, noted the increasing importance of simulation in high-acuity disciplines, “Simulation enables clinicians to rehearse complex procedures and critical scenarios without patient risk. Its integration into medical education strengthens preparedness, team coordination, and patient safety.

Dr. V N Mahalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, Santosh deemed-to-be University, stated, “Simulation is not a substitute for clinical experience.” It enables healthcare professionals to learn new skills and refine existing ones in a zero-risk immersive environment, ultimately improving patient care. Platforms like SIMPACT play a critical role in building awareness and enabling the structured adoption of advanced simulation training across healthcare education.

Dr. Manish Honwad, Surgeon Rear Admiral, VSM, Commanding Officer, INHS Asvini, noted, “In the armed forces, we rely on simulation to prepare for high-risk, high-stakes situations where there is no margin for error. Healthcare operates under similar pressures.

Integrating technologies such as virtual reality into medical training ensures professionals are better equipped, more confident, and ready to respond effectively when it matters most.”

Dr. Adith Chinnaswami, Organizing Secretary, SIMPACT 2026, Co-founder and COO, MediSim VR, emphasized the role of immersive technology in bridging training gaps. “Simulation creates a pathway between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice. With immersive technologies such as virtual reality, learners can repeatedly practice procedures and decision-making until competency is achieved, significantly improving training quality and consistency.”

SIMPACT 2026 reflects a growing national movement toward collaboration between academia, industry, and sector skill bodies to advance simulation-based healthcare education and build a future-ready healthcare workforce.

Bajaj Finance Extends Personal Loan Tenure up to 108 Months, Easing Repayment Burden

Bajaj Finance has enhanced its personal loan offering by introducing an extended repayment tenure of up to 108 months (9 years). This move is designed to give customers greater flexibility in managing their finances. With longer tenures, borrowers can opt for lower monthly instalments that align better with their budget.

Bajaj Finserv Personal Loan

A personal loan from Bajaj Finance is designed to help people manage both planned and urgent expenses. Whether it is a medical emergency, a family wedding, travel plans, or home repairs, customers can access funds quickly without pledging any collateral. The company continues to focus on providing reliable financial support through simple processes.

Flexible loan amount and extended repayment tenure
The newly introduced 108-month repayment tenure is a key enhancement in the Bajaj Finserv Personal Loan. The repayment tenure has been extended from 96 months (8 years) to 108 months (9 years), giving customers more time to repay their loan and helping reduce the monthly EMI burden. This can be especially useful for borrowers who want to manage large expenses without putting pressure on their monthly cash flow.

By offering a longer repayment window, Bajaj Finance allows customers to choose a tenure that fits their financial comfort. Those who prefer smaller instalments over a longer period now have more control over how they plan their repayment journey. At the same time, customers who wish to repay faster and potentially reduce their overall interest cost may continue to choose shorter tenures based on their needs, within the range of 12 months to 108 months.

Bajaj Finance offers a wide range of loan amounts to meet different financial needs. Customers can choose a loan amount starting from Rs. 40,000 up to Rs. 55 lakh. This flexibility allows individuals to borrow only what they need.

Quick approval and fast disbursal
Speed is an important factor when dealing with financial needs. Bajaj Finance focuses on providing quick approval for eligible applicants. The application process is simple and can often be completed online.

Once approved, funds are typically disbursed within 24 hours*. This quick access to money can be helpful during emergencies or urgent situations. Customers do not have to wait for long processing times or complicated paperwork.

A fast and efficient process ensures that borrowers can focus on solving their financial needs without unnecessary delays.

Competitive interest rates
Bajaj Finance offers competitive interest rates on personal loans, helping customers manage borrowing costs effectively. Customers are informed about the applicable personal loan interest rate before they apply. This helps them plan their monthly budget with confidence.

The interest rate typically ranges from 10% to 30% per annum, depending on factors such as income, repayment history, and credit profile. Competitive interest rate allows customers to choose a loan structure that fits their financial goals while keeping repayments comfortable over the selected tenure.

Collateral-free loan with minimal documentation
Another advantage of choosing a personal loan from Bajaj Finance is that it is a collateral-free loan. Customers do not need to provide property, gold, or any other asset as security. This reduces stress and makes the borrowing process more accessible.

The documentation requirements are also simple. In most cases, customers need to submit basic identity, address, and income details. Minimal paperwork helps speed up approval and makes the process convenient for working professionals, self-employed individuals, and small business owners.

This straightforward approach allows borrowers to apply with confidence and receive funds without complicated formalities.

Real-life use cases for a personal loan
A personal loan can support many types of financial needs. Some common situations where customers use these funds include:

  • Medical emergencies: Covering hospital bills, treatment costs, or urgent care expenses

  • Travel plans: Funding family holidays, pilgrimage trips, or international travel

  • Weddings: Managing venue bookings, decorations, and other celebration expenses

  • Education: Paying tuition fees, buying study materials, or enrolling in professional courses

  • Home improvement: Repairing furniture, renovating rooms, or upgrading household appliances

These real-life uses show how a personal loan can provide financial support during important life events. Having access to funds at the right time can reduce stress and help families focus on their priorities.

While borrowing can be helpful, responsible financial planning is equally important. Bajaj Finance encourages customers to assess their income and expenses before applying for a personal loan. Choosing the right loan amount and tenure can prevent financial pressure in the future. Simple tools such as EMI calculators and repayment schedules can help borrowers understand their commitments clearly before taking a loan.

The introduction of extending repayment tenure up to 108 months highlights Bajaj Finance’s continued focus on customer convenience and responsible lending. With flexible loan amounts, minimal paperwork, and fast disbursal, the company remains committed to providing reliable financial solutions that support customers at every stage of life.

Customers looking for funds for planned or urgent expenses can explore a personal loan from Bajaj Finance and benefit from a repayment structure designed for greater financial comfort.

The fischer Group of Companies is systematically expanding its production in Asia. With a new production site in India and the expansion of the existing plant in China, fischer is focusing on sustainable growth and a stronger market presence. The company also launches a new production facility in Saudi Arabia.

fischer Production Site in China

The fischer Group of Companies is consistently expanding its production capacities in Asia. The focus is on the new and expanded sites in India and China. In Bengaluru, in the Indian state of Karnataka, fischer is launching a new production facility with a focus on fischer installation systems.

In Taicang, in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, fischer is expanding its existing production site. The new production line for items from the heavy-duty fixings range and from the structural retrofitting product range went into operation at the beginning of this month. Deliveries to the Chinese market will begin in May and to the whole of Asia from November. The original production facility was opened back in 1997.

Professor Klaus Fischer, owner of the fischer Group of Companies said, “The large-scale expansion of our production in Asia is an important step towards further strengthening our competitiveness and customer proximity. Local production sites are becoming increasingly important, particularly in the current global political climate.”

fischer is also focusing on growth in Saudi Arabia: the company recently opened its 51st subsidiary there. Its official inauguration has been postponed until autumn due to current events in the region. A large new production site is currently being developed in Dammam, with its opening planned for early May. fischer has been producing fastening solutions in Tây Ninh, Vietnam, since 2022.

“Asia plays a central role for our company – and with the new and expanded production sites, we are laying the foundations for sustainable growth and innovative solutions directly on the spot,” says Alexander Bässler, Chief Executive Officer. With these investments, fischer is underlining its position as one of the leading global suppliers of fastening systems.

“The expansion of our production footprint in Asia, and particularly in India, reflects fischer Group’s commitment to being closer to customers. The new facility in India strengthens our ability to deliver faster while combining German engineering excellence with the ‘Make in India’ vision,” said Mayank Kalra, Managing Director, fischer India.

Ahmedabad University Professor Aparajith Ramnath Honoured with Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards 2026

Aparajith Ramnath, Associate Professor at Ahmedabad University’s School of Arts and Sciences, has been awarded the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards 2026 in the Books (Non-Fiction) category for Engineering a Nation: The Life and Career of M. Visvesvaraya. In a moment that highlights the growing relevance of research-led storytelling, the recognition indicates the importance of rigorous scholarship in shaping public discourse.

Aparajith Ramnath, Associate Professor, Ahmedabad University awarded the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards 2026

The award recognises Professor Ramnath’s work in illuminating the life and legacy of one of India’s most influential engineers and situating it within the broader historical and social context of nation-building. The jury acknowledged the book for its depth of research and its ability to expand public understanding of India’s institutional and technological history, an area often overlooked in mainstream discourse.

In this biography, Professor Ramnath examines the life and legacy of engineer, administrator, and statesman M. Visvesvaraya, whose enduring influence is reflected in the celebration of his birth anniversary as Engineers’ Day. The book explores how Visvesvaraya rose to prominence through his engineering accomplishments and broader contributions to governance, policy, and nation-building.

Situating his life within a wider historical and social context, the book traces the aptitudes, experiences, and historical contexts that shaped an individual whose influence extended well beyond engineering. It presents a layered understanding of how technical expertise, administrative vision, and historical circumstance converged to shape one of modern India’s most influential figures.

Built on over seven years of meticulous archival research, the book draws on letters, technical papers, newspapers, and institutional records from India and abroad. It shows how M. Visvesvaraya helped shape not just physical infrastructure, but also the administrative and intellectual frameworks of a young nation. It places his work within the political and economic changes of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This approach provides readers with a nuanced understanding of how technical expertise and governance intersect.

The Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards honour the literary and scholarly strength of Engineering a Nation and its contribution to understanding the intersections of engineering, governance, and modern Indian history. It reflects the University’s broader vision towards enabling interdisciplinary scholarship that speaks beyond academia and contributes meaningfully to public conversations.
