Eoin Morgan Shares Expert Insight on IPL 2026’s Biggest Trade Shock
The 2026 IPL mini-auction had a lot of surprises in store for the fans, but the biggest surprise was unfurled even before the auction started as the Rajasthan Royals decided to trade Sanju Samson for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran from Chennai Super Kings, allowing all three players a new lease of life in the IPL.


Samson served as the skipper for the Royals for five years between 2021 and 2025, helping the inaugural IPL champions reach the final for the first time since 2008 in his second year of captaincy.


The right-handed top-order batter is also the all-time leading run-scorer for RR but the emergence of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made the RR side very top-heavy with Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, and Shimron Hetmyer vying for the top four spots in the batting order.


On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja never finished as the highest run-scorer or the highest wicket-taker for the Super Kings in any single edition, but the all-rounder is the all-time leading wicket-taker for CSK in the IPL. Jadeja’s presence, along with Ravichandran Ashwin, would be highly missed as the Super Kings enter a new era with newer heroes on the horizon.


David Warner gives an insight into the biggest trade ahead of IPL 2026
If I look back on my IPL career, I represented two franchises, the Delhi Capitals and the Sunrisers Hyderabad, and returning to Delhi after playing for Sunrisers for 7 years was definitely a moment I looked forward to at that point of my career.


Ravindra Jadeja started his career with the Royals but went on to win three more titles with CSK, and it would definitely be an emotional moment for the all-rounder to return to his first franchise in the IPL.


On the other hand, Samson might be in need of a fresh challenge in the IPL, and once he’s relieved of the captaincy duties, he might even surpass the pedigree and potential we saw in Sanju during his time with the Royals.


Sanju Samson’s fresh opportunity at CSK
When Samson was appointed as the captain of the Royals in 2021, there were not many bonafide stars in the RR dressing room with Yashaswi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag still in their teenage while Shivam Dube and Glenn Phillips were not the finished elite T20 product in terms of finishing games and providing genuine all-round options.


Sanju took on that load of leading a young team and even qualified for the final of IPL 2022, 14 years after RR had made it to their last final. Despite his calibre and achievements, the Royals took the decision of trading Samson to improve their balance and offer more all-round options in the squad.


The wicket-keeper batter is fresh off a great T20 World Cup campaign where he wasn’t even part of the first-choice playing XI, but came in and helped India make it to the semi-final against all odds.


Ravindra Jadeja’s second homecoming at RR
Ravindra Jadeja is adored by the fans in Chennai as one of their own and is part of the greatest CSK team which achieved IPL, CLT20, and completely dominated the T20 franchise circuit for a couple of years.


But, after a couple of ordinary seasons, Jadeja would be looking forward to a change in scene as his skills and experience would be much more revered in the young RR setup where Kumar Sangakkara is back as the head coach and would be looking to get the best out of both Jadeja and Sam Curran.

Jadeja’s rise as an all-round talent was well documented in his early years with RR with the legendary Shane Warne referring to him as ‘A Superstar in the Making’. After a gap of 15 years, the all-rounder is back where things started for him and alongside Curran, would allow the Royals to play a deeper batting line-up with more bowling options.


Eoin Morgan feels Sanju Samson is the perfect fit for CSK
If I look at this from a neutral lens, both teams have walked away with what they wanted, as Rajasthan Royals were short on all-rounders last season, while CSK lacked the firepower at the top, ultimately finishing with the wooden spoon in IPL 2025.


With MS Dhoni edging towards the last one or two years of his IPL career, and many reports suggesting that the 44-year old might feature as an impact player and not don the gloves, Sanju can step into Dhoni’s role with ease behind the stumps.


Apart from his excellent glove work, Dhoni is known for giving valuable inputs, which helped Ruturaj Gaikwad grow as a leader, and Samson, with his rich experience of leading RR and being part of India’s 2024 ICC T20 World Cup-winning squad, can offer similar inputs to Gaikwad, who will continue to lead CSK despite Samson’s arrival.


Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma have been identified as Jadeja’s and Dhoni’s respective heirs in the lower middle order, along with the presence of Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube, who complete CSK’s middle order.


Along with the upcoming prodigious talent Ayush Mhatre and skipper Gaikwad, Samson could be the perfect fit for CSK’s top order as the opening batter from Kerala is equally adept at playing seam and spin bowlers.


Sanju has learnt from the best, as he was often on the sidelines watching Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli do their respective jobs with 100% precision. At RR, Sanju has also played under the captaincy of internationally acclaimed leaders like Steve Smith and Ajinkya Rahane, who are very tactically astute, and those learnings would certainly come in use in the near future when he would be one of the senior-most players in the CSK squad once Dhoni hangs up his boots.

This year, the company successfully implemented a new 100-tons-per-day “rice to rice” processing plant directly at its headquarters at Lawrence Road Industrial Area.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Shubham Garg, Director, Vikram Roller Flour Mills Limited said, “The addition of the 100-ton rice-to-rice plant at our Delhi headquarters is an important step for us. It allows us to extend our established wheat processing capabilities into rice while strengthening supply and logistics across NCR. Our focus remains on building capacity in line with long-term demand.”
 

Building on regional success, the launch of the headquarters unit follows closely on the heels of another major operational victory. Just last year, Vikram Mills successfully commissioned a 100-tons-per-day “paddy to rice” plant located in Kiloi, Rohtak.
 

The Rohtak facility expanded the company’s rice processing operations, particularly in procurement planning, grading and large-scale handling. The experience from that unit supported the setup of the new headquarters plant and helped streamline sourcing, processing and distribution activities.

The seamless implementation of the Rohtak plant reinforced the company’s ability to scale beyond wheat. Now, the new headquarters plant builds on that base and expands processing capacity to meet domestic supply requirements in the Delhi NCR region.
 

Combining “Flour Muscle” with Basmati Rice Production, this is a strategic move to integrate wheat and basmati rice operations at the headquarters. By placing the new rice-to-rice plant at its headquarters, Vikram Mills is effectively combining its traditional “flour muscle”, its large-scale wheat processing capacity, with its growing rice operations.

SBTi Calls for Wider Adoption to Build Resilient Food Systems in the Global South

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), called on Indian corporations to prioritize science-based targets to transform food supply chains into resilient, low-carbon systems that deliver long-term cost savings, enhanced productivity, and reduced climate risks during his trip to India last week.

Mounting pressures on global food systems, where more frequent droughts, heatwaves, and shifting growing seasons threaten harvests and drive annual agricultural losses of $123 billion worldwide. In Asia, these climate-related disasters equate to nearly 4% of agricultural GDP, cascading impacts through food security, livelihoods, and economic stability.

 

David Kennedy, CEO of Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), during his recent visit to India, positioned the Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) sector’s reliance on ecosystems as a call to invest in regenerative practices, reduce food waste and deforestation, and build resilience through diversified sourcing, traceability, and stronger supplier partnerships.

 

By end-2024, 85% of companies with validated SBTi FLAG targets implemented regenerative farming to slash agricultural emissions, while 75% tackled land-use change and deforestation, proving science-based targets drive tangible operational shifts for sustainable supply chains. Over 10,000 companies and financial institutions globally, including 290 in India, have set SBTi targets, representing more than 40% of global market capitalization across major sectors and regions.

SBTi research shows companies with science-based targets gain benefits beyond emissions cuts, including stronger risk management, competitive advantage, and deeper supplier relationships. The revised Corporate Net-Zero Standard (V2) adds tailored criteria for medium companies across upper-middle, lower-middle, and low-income countries, and for small and micro-enterprises globally, improving accessibility despite size, location, or financing constraints. Scope 3 targets drive collaborative supplier engagement through capacity building and transition planning. Both V1.3 and draft V2 also stress climate justice, urging greater support for vulnerable countries and affected communities.

 

For Indian companies, Kennedy stressed that adopting SBTi routes insulates against sourcing volatility, cuts long-run costs via efficiency and resilience, and positions firms as leaders in equitable food transitions, recognizing “survival emissions” while prioritizing adaptation co-benefits like nutrition security and livelihoods.

Headlined by the Chief Minister, the event was graced by Minister for Medical Education Shri Hasan Mushrif, Minister of Water Resources Girish Mahajan, Minister of State for Medical Education Smt Madhuri Misal, Secretary, Medical Education and Pharmaceuticals Shri Dheeraj Kumar (IAS), and Commissioner, Medical Education Shri Anil Bhandari (IAS).


Leaders from healthcare institutions including Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Lilavati Hospital, alongside Swapnali Kadam of Bharati Vidyapeeth, and diagnostics major Agilus Diagnostics participated in the discussions. They were joined by Prashant Desai, longevity and health span educator; integrative health expert Luke Coutinho; actor and women’s health advocate Soha Ali Khan, associated with UNFPA India; and representatives from the Ramky Group, which is involved in bulk drug park development in Maharashtra. Many of the participants also joined the initiative as Champions for PULSE, committing to support the platform’s long term vision of strengthening healthcare innovation, research collaboration and health systems transformation in the state.


The composition of the gathering reflected the ambition of PULSE 2026 as a convergence of clinical medicine, preventive wellness, diagnostics, policy and investment. Importantly, the state confirmed that PULSE 2026 will be held on March 27 to 28, 2026, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, reflecting the scale and ambition of the summit.


In his address, the Chief Minister articulated a clear vision for the sector’s evolution.


Healthcare must be viewed as both a social responsibility and a driver of long term economic growth. Maharashtra has the institutional depth, medical expertise, and innovation capacity to emerge as a national leader in healthcare transformation. Through PULSE 2026, we aim to create a structured platform that brings together policy, capital, research and clinical excellence to strengthen our health ecosystem,” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.


The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of building affordable healthcare models and strengthening Maharashtra’s health and medtech ecosystem. He emphasised that the state’s expanding digital health infrastructure and public health data systems can play a catalytic role in enabling innovation, research and technology development, while creating new opportunities for collaboration between government institutions, healthcare providers and private sector innovators.


Beyond infrastructure and innovation, PULSE 2026 will place strong emphasis on preventive healthcare, early diagnostics and community awareness as foundational pillars of long term health resilience. By aligning public policy with private sector participation and institutional expertise, the state aims to catalyse investment into healthcare infrastructure, medtech manufacturing, digital health platforms, biotechnology research, wellness, medical tourism and healthcare expansion.

 

Research and academic collaboration will form another central pillar of the conclave, with a focus on competency based medical education, global university partnerships, translational research and technology enabled learning environments.


Mumbai’s status as a medical, financial and educational hub gives the initiative natural momentum. The broader vision, however, is more expansive: to position Maharashtra as a gateway for healthcare innovation, research excellence and global capital participation. 


PULSE 2026 is expected to bring together more than 130 national and international speakers across 20 sessions over two days, with an estimated 2,900 delegates representing government, academia, clinicians, industry leaders, investors and multilateral institutions. Conceived not as a one time event but as part of a sustained five year charter for healthcare transformation, the initiative will also explore how emerging technologies and digital platforms are reshaping healthcare delivery, medical education and innovation ecosystems.


As momentum builds toward March 27 to 28 at the Jio World Convention Centre, PULSE 2026 is being framed not merely as a conference, but as a strategic platform to shape the future of healthcare delivery, investment and research in India.

The award, recognising Mr. Naidu’s contributions spanning over three decades to innovation, technology creation to deployment, skill development, policy formulation, developing emerging tech clusters, overall industry growth, and his instrumental role in building a resilient ESDM ecosystem to firmly establish Brand India on the global stage, was presented at the IESA Vision Summit 2026. The ceremony took place on February 26th, 2026, at The Leela Bharatiya City, Bengaluru, before a distinguished gathering of India’s foremost industry leaders, policymakers, and technology visionaries.
