Sambhv Steel Launches Stainless Steel Coils

Sambhv Steel Tubes Limited, one of the key manufacturers of electric resistance welded (“ERW”) steel pipes and structural tubes (hollow section) in India in terms of the installed capacity as of March 31, 2024 (Source: CRISIL Report); proudly announces its expansion of product portfolio with the unveiling a range of stainless steel products. This new line-up features stainless steel coils, including hot rolled annealed and pickled (“HRAP”) coils and stainless steel cold rolled coils (collectively “Stainless Steel Coils”), which we have begun manufacturing from in-house stainless steel slabs and stainless steel HR coil having an installed capacity of 60,000 MTPA as of September 20, 2024, and are designed to deliver quality, durability, and versatility for a variety of industrial applications.

The newly launched Stainless Steel Coils are manufactured using advanced technology and process of Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) which ensures consistent product quality.

According to CRISIL Report, Sambhv Steel Tubes Limited is the only company in India with a single location backward integrated manufacturing facility for ERW steel pipes and tubes with presence across the value chain as of March 31, 2024. The Company is one of the two players in India manufacturing ERW steel pipes and tubes (along with hollow section pipes and tubes) using narrow-width HR coil, as of March 31, 2024. It is the only player in India to manufacture narrow-width HR coil with backward integration capability, as of March 31, 2024.

The Company’s backward integration processes allow it to manufacture a range of finished products including ERW black pipes and tubes (hollow section) and galvanized iron (“GI“) pipes, using intermediate products such as sponge iron, blooms/slabs and hot rolled (“HR“) coil which are manufactured in-house. Enviu hosted knowledge-sharing webinar on December 10, 2024, focused on tackling India’s textile waste problem. The session drew a diverse audience, including textile industry leaders, sustainability advocates, funders, recyclers, brands, and students. The team highlighted key gaps in India’s textile waste value chain, uncovering actionable opportunities to build sustainable solutions that align profitability with environmental responsibility.

With 20 years of expertise, Enviu demonstrated how its human-centered design approach identifies opportunities and transforms challenges into scalable business ventures. The webinar explored this methodology, showcasing innovative initiatives like reTex, The Good Felt (TGF), and Re-Minded ventures aimed at plugging critical gaps and driving systemic change in the textile waste ecosystem.

Universal Sompo General Insurance and Sompo Care Inc Partner to Drive Global Health Initiatives

Universal Sompo and Sompo Care have been successfully making collaborative efforts at enhancing health and wellbeing across borders, in alignment with the Skill India Mission. The project under this collaboration is being implemented throughout 2024 and will continue through 2025. This project involves providing Indian nursing care personnel with nine months of comprehensive training in India. Upon completion of the training and the acquisition of a residence status as a specified skilled worker in Japan, these professionals can work as full-time employees at Sompo Care facilities in Japan.

The significant cost of training, including tuition fees and living expenses, poses a challenge for many aspiring candidates. To address this challenge, Universal Sompo has stepped forward to support the “International Mobility Program“. Until now, this initiative supported 75 eligible healthcare workers from India by providing them with comprehensive training in Japanese language (Level N4) as well as nursing care and offering them rewarding careers in Japan. The training is being conducted by experienced Japanese and Indian trainers, delivered in an offline format at designated centres.
