The hotel’s design draws deeply on the cultural narrative of its location with space, nature and light shaping a timeless yet contemporary retreat. History was also a key reference with the park’s Heritage Home, built by Phraya Bhakdinorasreth “Nai Lert”, a visionary entrepreneur who helped shape modern Bangkok. Providing a storied design foundation, combined with Aman’s DNA of space, exclusivity and privacy, the property introduces a new era of refined hospitality to the city.

It follows that local art was central to the aesthetic, with bespoke pieces created in collaboration with Thai artists. A striking 12-metre-tall tree sculpture, inspired by Nai Lert Park’ century-old Chamchuri tree, rises through a triple atrium on the 9th floor, adorned with 6,000 gold leaves that transition from gold to black. The lobby features an installation of 3,000 spinning tops forming the Thai numeral one, symbolising greatness which speaks to the Nai Lert legacy, and in the 1872 bar, Chiang Mai artisans carved a series of wood panels framing handcrafted leather clouds, evoking traditional Thai shadow puppetry.

Elsewhere, the hotel’s 52 suites, among the largest in Bangkok, begin at 94 square metres and boast floor-to-ceiling windows. Each suite is thoughtfully designed in a muted palette to foster a calming atmosphere, with spacious living areas, generously proportioned furniture and state-of-the-art technology, all reflecting Aman’s understated elegance. The brand’s signature pivoting light panels allow customisation of the space, creating a semi-open-plan layout between bathroom and bedroom in seconds.

BD India Provides Knowledge-sharing Platform for Laboratory Personnel on Minimal Residual Disease

To enable knowledge sharing for laboratory personnel on technological advancement and best practices made towards assessment of Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) in Acute Leukemia & Myeloma, BD Life Sciences-Biosciences, a segment of BD (Becton, Dickinson, and Company) organized a 2-day workshop at the Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore. This knowledge-sharing workshop where eminent speakers from leading medical colleges and hospitals elaborated on the technical and analytical components of MRD assessment was attended by nearly 75 participants, from across the country, Philippines, and Australia.

Minimal residual disease (MRD) is a term used to describe the small number of cancer cells in the body after cancer treatment. An MRD positive test result means that the disease was still detected after treatment. Doctors use MRD to measure the effectiveness of treatment and to predict which patients are at risk of relapse. It can also help doctors confirm and monitor remissions and possibly identify an early return of cancer.

Monitoring the response to chemotherapy and the depth of remission plays a critical role in the management of patients with hematological malignancies. It is important for practicing hematopathologists to understand the prognostic and therapeutic significance of the MRD result and be aware of the advances made in this field.

Maharashtra’s Maritime Sector to Get a Boost After Major Shipyard in Konkan Region Becomes Operational

In a boost to Maharashtra’s Maritime capability, a Shipyard located in the key region of Dabhol in Konkan region has entered into operationalization by carrying out the important Steel Cutting Ceremony.

Square Port Shipyard Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Hazoor Multi Projects Limited, has secured an order from a shipping company located in the United Kingdom. The all-important steel cutting ceremony, which marks the initiation of the ship building activity was carried out on the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa at their shipyard located at Dabhol – Usgaon.

Fattehsingh Patil, Director of Square Port Shipyard stated, “The ship building and repair industry in India has immense potential, however its capability is grossly under-utilized. The Government of India has provided a boost to this sector through its recent allocation in the Financial Budget for 2025-26. We hope that our (today’s) steel cutting ceremony shall be an important addition to Maharashtra’s shipbuilding capability and assist in realizing Maharashtra’s goal of becoming a $1 Trillion economy by 2027. With this steel cutting for building of a new Landing Craft, a total of 5 vessels are under construction at the shipyard as on today. We are in talks with many other major foreign shipyards and hope to give even more positive news in the coming few months,” he added.

The Square Port Shipyard at Dabhol, which is a subsidiary of HMPL, was earlier owned by Bharati Defence Infrastructure Limited which went into insolvency in 2017-18.
