Aman Tea Group Unveils First-of-its-Kind Sustainability and GAP Initiative for Over 6,000 Small Tea Growers

In a landmark move set to reshape sustainable tea cultivation in India, Aman Tea Group-one of the country’s largest and most respected tea producers-has launched an ambitious six-month Sustainability and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Initiative aimed at empowering over 6,000 Small Tea Growers (STGs) across North Bengal, Bihar, and Assam. With an annual output of 30 million kilograms, the Group is leveraging its vast presence and deep-rooted community relationships to drive real change at the grassroots level.

Rajeev Baid flags off Aman Tea’s mission

This initiative, part of Aman Tea Group’s visionary “SafeTea, Save Tea” mission, is the first large-scale campaign of its kind led by a private player in India’s tea industry. It is being rolled out in close collaboration with Trustea, and CISTA, underlining the power of public-private partnerships in promoting sustainability in agriculture.

The official launch took place at Evergreen Dooars Tea Private Unit II (Harmati), where the program was flagged off in the presence of prominent Mr. Bijay Gopal Chakraborty, President of CISTA; Mr. Rajat Kumar Ray Karjee, Chairman of WBUFSTA; Mr. Rajeev Baid, CMD and Founder of Aman Tea Group; and senior representatives from Trustea, Mr. Abhimanyu Kundu and Mr. Sanjay Das.

Over the next six months, Aman Tea Group will deliver structured training programs across its key operational zones-covering nine Bought Leaf Factories (BLFs) in North Bengal. The initiative’s centerpiece is the deployment of mobile awareness vans, designed to take expert knowledge and practical training directly to even the most remote tea-growing areas. These mobile units will serve as moving classrooms, offering live demonstrations, interactive sessions, and hands-on learning experiences tailored for STGs.

The campaign is grounded in real-world concerns-ensuring safe handling of agrochemicals, raising awareness about banned and counterfeit products, and encouraging the use of safe, approved alternatives. Through consistent on-ground engagement, Aman’s field representatives are guiding growers on everything from interpreting color-coded chemical labels to mastering correct storage, dosage, and disposal techniques. Importantly, the initiative also aims to build long-term capability among farmers by fostering a Lead Farmer Model, creating local sustainability champions who will carry forward the message in their communities.

This initiative is not just about compliance-it’s about transforming mindsets,” said Mr. Rajeev Baid, CMD and Founder of Aman Tea Group. “We believe sustainability starts with the grower, and through this campaign, we’re equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to embrace practices that protect both people and the planet.

As part of its larger sustainability vision, Aman Tea Group is also integrating traceability, residue management, and transparent reporting into its supply chain-steps that not only boost global market readiness but also reaffirm the Group’s unwavering commitment to ethical, responsible tea production.

This pioneering initiative reaffirms Aman Tea Group’s leadership in shaping a more sustainable future for Indian tea-rooted in knowledge, powered by partnerships, and inspired by the growers who make every cup possible.

Gurgaon’s Sector 106: Where Tomorrow’s Luxury Lives Begin Taking Shape

In the shifting sands of Gurugram’s real estate, certain sectors evolve beyond coordinates on a map-they begin to tell a story. Sector 106, tucked along the Dwarka Expressway, is one such place. For years, it lay in the shadows of glitzier addresses like Golf Course Road and DLF Phase 5. Today, it’s quietly stepping into the spotlight-not with noise, but with nuance.

Gurgaon’s Sector 106: Where Tomorrow’s Luxury Lives Begin Taking Shape

And leading this transformation is MRG Crown, whose recently unveiled sample flat marks not just a launch, but a quiet assertion that Sector 106 has arrived.

The development, a low-rise gated community, reflects the changing pulse of Gurgaon. What makes Sector 106 compelling isn’t just its proximity to Delhi or the upcoming metro link. It’s the pace of the place. Unlike the hyper-vertical developments that dominate much of the NCR, this sector is embracing low-density living with a certain elegance-private terraces, green belts, walkable layouts-all of which are core to the vision behind MRG Crown.

At MRG Group, we’ve always believed that luxury doesn’t have to shout-it can speak through space, design, and intent. With MRG Crown, we’re not just building homes we’re shaping a community that reflects the aspirations of a new generation of homeowners who seek calm, connectivity, and a more meaningful way to live,” says Rajjath Goel, Managing Director, MRG Group.

In a post-pandemic world where people crave both connection and calm, that balance is proving attractive-especially to HNIs and UHNIs who are looking to invest not just in homes, but in lifestyles that are future-proof. MRG Crown taps into this desire with thoughtful design and a community-first approach.

Why Investors Are Looking Here
What’s drawing this evolved investor base to Sector 106 isn’t hard to decode. There’s the obvious:

  • Excellent access to IGI Airport and central Delhi

  • Proximity to business hubs like Cyber City

  • The long-awaited completion of the Dwarka Expressway

But beyond the logistics, it’s the quality of upcoming developments that is raising eyebrows. Projects like MRG Crown are focusing on curated experiences-homes with smart layouts, clubhouses that aren’t afterthoughts, and private terraces that allow a slice of open sky even in a dense city.

This new wave of construction appeals to a different kind of buyer: people who aren’t rushing to flip a unit in 12 months, but those who want to hold, live, or lease in places that will age well. In this context, MRG Crown becomes more than a real estate project-it becomes a long-term lifestyle decision.

The Emerging Buyer Profile
Interestingly, it’s not just legacy investors who are entering this market.

  • First-time luxury buyers in their 30s and 40s NRIs seeking stable, long-term returns

  • HNIs with portfolios in Golf Course Road or South Delhi, looking for a quieter, well-connected second home

  • For all these profiles, MRG Crown offers a differentiated proposition-low-rise luxury that balances accessibility with aesthetic intent.

Beyond ROI: The Lifestyle Pull
What makes Sector 106 feel different is that the conversation is shifting from square foot rates to how life feels inside the home.

From clubhouse experiences to green nooks for elderly parents, from safety features to room for kids to just be-there’s an intent in design that resonates with today’s more conscious buyer.

MRG Crown aligns closely with this evolution in consumer priorities, offering thoughtfully designed spaces that cater to multi-generational needs while embracing future-ready living.

A Sector in Transition
There’s a certain energy in Sector 106 that’s hard to miss. It’s not the frenzied kind you see in launch-happy corridors. It’s more confident, measured.

And as new projects break ground with a focus on community living, functional luxury, and long-term growth, this micro-market is evolving into something Gurgaon’s earlier sectors no longer have room to offer-space, serenity, and serious potential.

MRG Crown stands at the heart of this evolution, helping shape Sector 106 into a landmark destination of tomorrow.

If youre watching Gurgaon’s real estate curve, MRG Crown in Sector 106 is where the next bend begins.

India Poised to Become Global Air Cargo Hub – ACFI & ASCELA Insights Chart Roadmap for 2030 in its Knowledge Paper

Air Cargo Forum India (ACFI) and ASCELA Insights today released the knowledge paper titled ‘India’s Air Cargo Horizon – Seizing Global Reroutes, Regional Dominance and Resilience’, which unveils a transformative vision to position India as a global air cargo hub. The knowledge paper was released today at the 4th ACFI Annual Conclave in New Delhi. With India’s air cargo volumes projected to triple to 10 million metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) by 2030, the paper highlights the sectors rapid evolution, driven by the e-commerce boom, policy momentum, greenfield infrastructure and rising demand for high-value cargo, such as pharmaceuticals and perishables.

As part of the strategic roadmap for the air cargo industry, ACFI is proud to announce landmark partnership with The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) that will significantly bolster both regional connectivity and global knowledge sharing. Also, soon ACFI will be signing MoU’s with Government of Tripura and Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Sanjiv Edward, President, ACFI, said, “The Indian air cargo sector is at a pivotal inflection point and undergoing rapid transformation. At this crucial juncture, this knowledge paper outlines the strategic roadmap until 2030, infrastructure requirements, policy reforms, and the initiatives by the air cargo industry to achieve the ambitious target of 10 MTPA of air cargo volumes set by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. This paper has laid down a clear action plan for all stakeholders of the industry. India is uniquely positioned to redefine global cargo corridors. With bold policy reforms and strategic investments, we can build a resilient, digitised, and world-class logistics ecosystem.”

Shri. Piyush Srivastava, Sr. Economic Advisor, Ministry Of Civil Aviation said, “Air infrastructure today faces key global dichotomies-demand is rapidly growing in the Eastern Hemisphere, while critical services like manufacturing and MRO remain concentrated in the West. This imbalance is bound to shift. As demand grows, supply will follow. Its not just about Made in India; its about Make in India-a strategic priority for us moving forward.”

He further added, “The Aviation sector is highly sensitive to global geopolitical shifts. While events like the Red Sea crisis have offered temporary advantages for the Indian air cargo system. But prolonged airspace closures over Pakistan and over three years of the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict, have significantly disrupted operations and increased costs. These challenges are not only unpredictable but inevitable. The only sustainable path forward lies in embracing technology, innovation, and disruption.

Speaking at the launch, Dheeraj Rastogi, Principal Commissioner Customs, Delhi, India’s customs operations have undergone a significant transformation-from early digitization efforts to the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and risk-based segmentation,” stated Mr. Dheeraj Rastogi. These innovations have contributed to a substantial reduction in transaction costs and improved the overall efficiency of cargo processing.”

He further added, Currently, 52% of air cargo is cleared on the same day, with average clearance time at Delhi Air Cargo reduced from 41 hours to 35 hours. The department remains committed to maintaining a fine balance between revenue mobilization, national security, trade facilitation, and legal compliance. Given the increasing complexities introduced by e-commerce, a collaborative, data-driven approach between industry stakeholders and regulatory authorities is imperative. Our collective goal must be to build a seamless, AI-enabled ecosystem that supports India’s emergence as a global leader in air cargo logistics.”

According to Mr. Glyn Hughes, Director General, TIACA,With TIACA representing the entire air cargo supply chain and ACFI representing the Indian air cargo industry, it is crucial we work together so that the world can receive Indian exports efficiently and bring the best practices achieved in other countries. Globally, every year, goods worth US$9 trillion are transported through air cargo, accounting for one-third of global trade. India is at the heart of the growing global trade, and we will work toward making air cargo an integral part of it. TIACA, with its global memberships, would be able to act as a support to the Indian air cargo industry in the fields of digitalisation, enhanced usage of modern technology, including AI and adoption of other global standards.”

Together with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, ACFI is shaping a forward-looking roadmap to meet the growing demands of domestic and international logistics. These partnerships reflect ACFI’s unwavering commitment to building a resilient, efficient and globally competitive air cargo ecosystem that supports India’s economic aspirations.

Key findings of the knowledge report

  • Capacity Concentration: 82% of air cargo is currently handled by just six airports (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata), amplifying concentration risk and operational inefficiencies.

  • Growth Enablers: Digitisation, strategic airport locations in India, integrated multimodal corridors (PM Gati Shakti), and emerging connectivity in tier-2 cities.

  • Regulatory Gaps: Scalability of the sector is hindered by fragmented clearance systems, high dwell times (almost 12 hours for exports and 48 hours for imports) and limited transhipment readiness.

  • Investment Heatmap: High potential in cold-chain operations, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production, automation and freighter fleet expansion.

The secondary airports have the potential to play a critical role. The Government of India’s initiative to significantly enhance air connectivity across India will give the required boost to the air cargo sector. At present, these secondary airports are underutilised due to poor infrastructure and limited airline networks.

The report highlights the strategic action areas to triple air cargo handling to 10 MTPA by 2030. These strategic actions include:

  • Creation of transhipment hubs with 24×7 clearance and zero rescreening

  • National Unified Digital Clearance Window and Cargo Command Centres

  • Freighter acquisition incentives and plug-and-play terminals across regional hubs

  • ESG integration via green infrastructure, SAF blending, and inclusive workforce practices

Global Inspiration, Local Action: Drawing on best practices from Singapore, Frankfurt and Dubai, the report advocates for modular warehousing, predictive slot allocation, and unified cargo community systems to manage rerouted and time-sensitive freight.

The paper serves as a call to action for industry, government, and private stakeholders to forge collaborative pathways and enhance India’s role in international trade and economic growth.
