Over 4000 Students Participate in ‘Aadi Perukku’ Celebration at Dr MGR Janaki Women’s College

Over 4,000 students of Dr. MGR-Janaki Womens College celebrated Aadi Perukku, a Tamil festival observed on the eighteenth day of the Tamil month of Aadi to express gratitude for rivers. Donning half-sarees and sarees, students performed many traditional practices, capturing the essence of the occasion.

During the celebration, students participated in the mulaipari worship, carrying earthen pots filled with sprouts from nine different types of grains and legumes. They enjoyed ‘chitrannam’, which included different varieties of rice such as lemon rice, tamarind rice, and coconut rice.

To add to the festivity, students performed traditional folk dances during the occasion and included ‘Devarattam,‘ ‘Karakattam,‘ ‘Puliyaattam,‘ ‘Oyilattam,’ ‘Sakkaiyaattam,’ ‘Poikaal Kuthiraiyaattam,‘ ‘Mayilattam,‘ and Dance Drama. Special children also performed a dance, and students from Agaram took part in the occasion. Altogether it was a spectacular sight and replication of celebrations indigenous to villages.

Success comes when you keep showing up

“When you leave home for the first time, it’s not easy. You miss your family and your routine. But when you stay focused on your dream, it gets easier,” said Neeraj. “You need to have a strong mindset. Just keep showing up and giving your best, that’s how success comes.”

Sharing a personal story from early in his career, Neeraj recalled the time he broke his wrist during training. “I had just started my journey and had to wear a plaster for 40 days. I thought my career was over,” he said. But rather than give up, he stayed focused on his dream of representing India. Once recovered, he trained three to four times a day, lost the 10-12 kg gained during recovery, and within just six weeks, he won a national medal. “It’s all about strength, resilience and a strong mindset,” he added.

Lessons from Life Abroad

Talking about his experiences training overseas, Neeraj shared candidly, “The biggest challenge for Indians abroad is food.” His advice to students “Learn basic cooking before moving out. It’s important to be independent. Learn to cook, do your chores, and make your own decisions. You might make a few mistakes but that’s how you learn.” He also emphasized the value of self-reliance: “Living away from home teaches you a lot. At home, you often rely on your family. But stepping out helps you understand life and yourself better,” and urges students to be patient, take small steps and keep learning.

Breaking Language Barriers

Language was another challenge discussed by students. Neeraj shared his own journey with English, explaining how he learned vocabulary from his coaches and even practiced using the Duolingo app. “It felt good when Duolingo said I got 100 percent. I wasn’t a top-scoring student in school, so this kind of learning made me feel proud” he said. “I’ve had coaches from Australia, Germany, and now the Czech Republic. So, I’ve picked up a few words from each language. I try to learn a few and greet people in their own language.”

The fireside chat was part of an ongoing collaboration between the Duolingo English Test and Neeraj Chopra, designed to inspire young Indians to pursue their global education dreams with confidence.

Cube Highways Trust Declares Q1 FY26 Results; Declares Total Distribution of Rs. 2.5 per Unit

Cube Highways Trust (“Cube InvIT“) [NSE/BSE: CUBEINVIT/543899], managed by Cube Highways Fund Advisors Pvt. Ltd. (the “Investment Manager“) today announced its results for the quarter ended June 30, 2025.

The Board of Directors of the Investment Manager has approved a Distribution Per Unit (DPU) of Rs. 2.50 for the quarter. The total distribution for the quarter amounts to Rs. 336 crores. It comprises Rs. 1.33 per unit as interest and Rs. 1.17 per unit as return of capital.

Pankaj Vasani, Group CFO of Cube InvIT, stated, “We are delighted to announce a strong start to the third fiscal year (post-listing), with our Q1 financial results reflecting solid growth across key performance metrics. Revenue from operations stood at Rs. 9,443 Mn, up 19.2% YoY, with total consolidated income at Rs. 9,739 Mn. Traffic trends remained stable to positive across most corridors. While toll revenue grew 10.3% YoY, traffic growth saw an increase of 6.3% YoY. Despite portfolio expansion, total expenses were largely stable at Rs. 9,755 Mn. EBITDA rose to Rs. 7,016 Mn, an improvement of 22% YoY. Total Assets Under Management (AUM) rose to Rs. 365 Bn, up Rs. 43 Bn during the quarter.

The record date for the distribution is August 4, 2025, and the distribution payout will be made on or before August 11, 2025.

Maharashtra Govt. & Art of Living’s SSRDP Join Hands to Transform 150 government-aided Schools

In a significant step toward revolutionizing the education landscape in Maharashtra, the Government of Maharashtra and The Art of Living Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDP) have signed a transformative Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaboratively uplift 150 government-aided schools across 10 districts in the state.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, senior government officials and Shri Prasana Prabhu, Chairman, Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust.

The Government of Maharashtra and The Art of Living’s SSRDP signed an MoU to transform 150 government-aided schools across 10 districts

This collaborative partnership aims to make government schools aspirational spaces of learning and holistic development by enhancing digital infrastructure, revamping physical facilities and introducing comprehensive wellbeing and capacity-building programs for students and teachers alike.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Hon’ble Chief Minister stated, “We are committed to transforming education in Maharashtra. Through this partnership with the Art of Living SSRDP, we aim to create environments that nurture not just academic excellence but also emotional, digital and moral intelligence in our students.”

Vision and Key Focus Areas

The initiative seeks to provide students with equal opportunities for growth by implementing a wide range of interventions including:

  • Establishment of digital smart classrooms and computer labs

  • STEM and science labs to encourage hands-on innovation

  • Structured training programs for teachers on modern pedagogy

  • Yoga, meditation and emotional resilience sessions for wellbeing

  • Renovation of classrooms, libraries, and sanitation facilities

  • Installation of solar units for uninterrupted power supply

  • Creative and sports-based development programs

  • Vibrant, inspiring school environments with murals and learning corners

Each school will undergo a baseline assessment to design tailored intervention plans, with the implementation phased over three years. The programs will be supported through CSR partnerships and philanthropic contributions mobilized by the Art of Living SSRDP.
