On Thursday Shivsena leader Eknath Shinde took the oath as the next chief minister of Maharashtra. After Shinde was announced as the next chief minister of Maharashtra. Eknath Shinde faction MLAs staying at the hotel in Goa celebrated this news.
Governor Bhagat Singh Kosariya said addressing the Press Conference after the meeting and claimed to form a government. Eknath Shinde along with Devendra Fadanvis addressed the press where they revealed the biggest surprise saying that Devendra Fadanvis will be the deputy CM of Maharashtra and Eknath Shinde will be the next chief minister of Maharashtra. The oath taking ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan on 30th June at 7:30 p.m. It was a surprise  for everyone because it was speculated that Devendra Fadnavis will be the next chief minister of Maharashtra and will succeed Udhav Thackeray.
“After the swearing-in ceremony today, we will have a cabinet expansion and Shiv Sena and BJP leaders will take the oath. I will stay out of the government,” Devendra Fadnavis was quoted as saying by ANI.

Shinde who was in Goa reached Mumbai and met the Governor along with Fadanvis. Expressing his gratitude towards Fadnavis Shinde quoted that “Fadnavis could have become CM going by the numbers but he showed a big heart and I thank him.” on Monday after the supreme court allowed a float test on Thursday Udhar Thakre resigned as the Maharashtra chief minister. Previously Eknath Shinde was serving as the cabinet minister of Urban Development and political works in the Maharashtra state government also he was an elected MLA from the kopri pachupakhadi constituency of Thane. With the support of 50 MLAs talking to the media shinde said that “The decision that we have taken is committed to Balasaheb’s Hindutva and for the development work in the constituencies of our MLAs. We have 50 MLAs with us.”

The Shiv Sena MLA said that the new Maharashtra government will have the backing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief J P Nadda: Eknath Shinde.
“BJP has 120 MLAs but despite that Devendra Fadnavis didn’t take the post of CM. I express my gratitude to him along with PM Modi, Amit Shah & other BJP leaders that they showed generosity and made Balasaheb’s Sainik (party-worker) the CM of the state.” Shinde said this thanking Fadanvis.

Some unknown facts use should know about Eknath Shinde-

Before being elected as the chief minister of Maharashtra, he has been elected as an MLA in the legislative Assembly Countinously four times that is in 2004,2009,2014 and 2019.

He was an autorickshaw driver before joining the politics and belongs to the Maratha community from Jawali taluka in Satara in Maharashtra. The then Thane shiv Sena president Anand Dighe was introduced to politics in the 1980s. He became a successor to Dighe’s legacy after his passing in 2001. In 2004 he was elected as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for the first time and in 2008 he was appointed as the leader of shiv sena. He studied till 11th standard, from Mangala High School & Junior College, Thane. He married Lata Eknath Shinde. The couple has a son named Shrikant Shinde. He is an orthopaedics surgeon who got elected as a Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha from the Kalyan constituency defeating the NCP’s Anand Paranjape, who had defected from the Shiv Sena and Raju Patil of the MNS.
